![]() ![]() Even late in the game, you can always count on this window to pop up to tell you how to control the camera or move. ![]() Instead, windows pop up at random intervals with control schemes. In addition, there is no true tutorial section – which even games geared toward an older audience would have. Granted, it’s only a couple lines, but it’s so vague that there’s no real clue as to what to do. There are no voices in here (aside from Scrat’s noises), so children will receive their … minimal guidance … from a wall of text. This game should not be confused with the far superior Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs with its full cast voice acting and decent well-rounded gameplay. The game is obviously designed for a younger audience, which is fine, but the designers severely missed the mark in several areas. Even the tablet fragments are automatically thrown together, eliminating even a mildly rewarding puzzle mechanic of assembling the tablets. You don’t even unlock concept art or anything cool. You don’t gain extra abilities, health, or anything else. ![]() Yes, you can collect statues and tablet fragments. As he goes about collecting these Crystal Nuts, he gains powers to help him further his quest. He’s like a chosen Scratatoan warrior or something. The premise is that Scrat has to gather Crystal Nuts scattered about the world. It’s probably tolerable on the Nintendo Switch, but I imagine on any platform it is a poorly constructed game.
